1 Introduction
These Terms and Conditions outline the agreement between you (the “Client”) and Ambulance International Scarborough (referred to as “AIS,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) regarding the provision of medical tourism services in Romania. By using our service called MediLink Romania, you agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions.
2 Services Provided
AIS facilitates medical tourism services by acting as an intermediary between the Client and medical providers in Romania. AIS does not provide direct medical services; instead, we connect you with qualified healthcare providers.
We assist you with the arrangement of consultations, medical procedures, and specific treatment in Bucharest, Romania. We can also assist you with accommodation and travel logistics, if required.
We will ask you to complete our medical assessment form and to provide us with any requested documentation (letters from specialists and copies of the investigation tests already done). We need this information in order to be able to provide you an initial medical plan and estimation of costs.
We will also offer a contact point for you throughout your medical journey, including translation of medical documents (with costs covered by yourself) and other communication assistance needed.
3 Medical Procedures and Liability
All investigations, procedures, medical or surgical treatments are carried out by third-party medical professionals in clinics in Romania. We only assist you in booking medical services with high top qualified medical professionals and certified medical clinics in Romania.
You will sign a consent form directly into the Clinic, after you will receive information regarding the types of investigations or treatments you will perform in the Clinic. AIS cannot guarantee the results of any medical or surgical treatments or be held responsible for any complications, side effects, or negative outcomes arising from any medical procedures performed by the third-party professionals.
By using MediLink Romania, you acknowledge and agree that:
- AIS is not liable for any diagnosis errors or medical or surgical treatment performed by the third-party medical providers.
- You accept full responsibility to undergo the treatment proposed by the clinic, after direct contact with the medical provider.
- You are responsible for obtaining comprehensive medical travel insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances, such as complications, post-operative care, or cancellations.
4 Client Responsibilities
As the Client, you are required to:
- Provide accurate and honest medical history and disclose all relevant medical information to AIS and secondary to the Romanian healthcare provider.
- Comply with the medical provider’s instructions regarding pre- and post-treatment care and follow-up requirements.
- Arrange your travel documentation, such as passports and visas, where necessary.
- Cover all your medical expenses, including any additional investigations or treatments that may become necessary following initial tests and not included in the original plan or cost estimate.
5 Booking and Payments
- Booking: In Bucharest, to secure a booking for a consultant you need to make an advance payment. This is also applied for some particular investigations, such as CT/MRI scans with contrast, where the contrast substance need to be paid upfront. This is because the contrast agent is a specialized material that is prepared specifically for the patient prior to the procedure, ensuring its availability and minimizing waste. Once we receive confirmation from Romanian medical provider, we will confirm your booking details with you and fit all your bookings within the duration of your visit.
- Payments:
We charge you £150 for processing your medical file, finding a suitable provider for your medical needs, and completing your booking, that include your initial medical plan and estimation of costs.
Payments for medical services and associated medical treatments are to be made directly to the medical provider (abroad clinic).
In order to secure a booking, sometimes a deposit is required; in this case, AIS will charge you for this, but the whole amount is deducted from the bill for that investigation.
Payments to AIS can be made via bank transfer only.
6 Cancellations and Refunds
- Cancellations by the Client:
If you wish to cancel your booking, you must notify AIS in writing. The AIS Fee is not refundable. Cancellations of the appointments will be subject to the terms & conditions of the specific healthcare provider.
- Cancellations by AIS:
In the unlikely event that AIS needs to cancel or reschedule your treatment due to unforeseen circumstances, we will notify you as soon as possible and offer alternative arrangements or a full refund of AIS service fees.
- Refund Policy:
Refunds for medical procedures will depend on the policies of the medical provider. AIS is not responsible for refunding any medical treatment costs once services have been rendered.
